BearingPoint Awarded Department of Defense Supplier Relationship Management Contract Valued Up to $3.7 Million

BearingPoint, Inc. (OTCBB:BGPTQ), one of the world’s largest management and technology consulting firms, today announced that it has been awarded a contract for Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) functions by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). The first-year value of the award is $1.2 million, with a total potential value of $3.7 million over three years.

The Defense Logistics Agency is the DoD’s largest combat support agency, supplying the nation’s military services and several civilian agencies with the critical resources they need to accomplish their worldwide missions. DLA provides wide-ranging logistical support for peacetime and wartime operations, as well as emergency preparedness and humanitarian missions.

DLA established the SRM program in 2002. BearingPoint began work on the program that same year, consulting on data access, business analytics and broad supplier strategies. During the time that BearingPoint has supported the SRM program, DLA has been able to deliver inventory cost savings and reduce customer wait times for order fulfillment.
