Web’s Leading Photo Destination and Award-Winning Mobile Startup Deliver Unlimited Automatic Uploads
Ontela, Inc. (http://www.ontela.com), provider of award-winning imaging services for wireless carriers, today announced that they have partnered with Photobucket to launch the Photobucket Mobile Uploader. With Photobucket Mobile Uploader, a user’s camera phone pictures are automatically saved to Photobucket, where they can archive it privately or share it with family and friends. The service is also uniquely easy to purchase and configure. Users can go to http://mobileuploader.photobucket.com, enter their phone number and model, and have the Photobucket Mobile Uploader sent directly to their handset.
A 2008 study conducted by Ontela found that only 19% of camera phone users can successfully upload a picture from their phone to the web. Even for the tech-savvy minority, this process is cumbersome, requiring a series of steps every time a picture is taken. Photobucket Mobile Uploader eliminates all the difficultly and allows users to simply snap photos, knowing they will all be available online when they get home. Even old photos, locked inside the camera-phone for months, are automatically uploaded when the service is first run.
“Our users are always asking how they can get their camera phone pictures to Photobucket,” said Alex Welch, CEO and Founder of Photobucket. “After seeing our customers struggle with individual email uploads and memory cards, we decided we should give them a truly easy way to do it. From there the Photobucket Mobile Uploader was born.”
“Ontela is all about creating the simplest possible experience for saving camera phone pictures,” said Dan Shapiro, CEO of Ontela. “In talking to our customers, we have found they are hungry for more ways to simplify their lives. Photobucket Mobile Uploader is as easy as it gets.”
Photobucket Mobile Uploader is available immediately.
