Cintas Acquires Germany’s Largest Independently Owned Document Destruction Business

Cintas Corporation (Nasdaq: CTAS) announced today it has acquired Aktenmuehle GmbH, one of the largest independent document destruction businesses in Europe, specializing in secure, on-site document management solutions. Headquartered in Munich, Aktenmuehle will transition to Cintas Document Management Germany GmbH in the coming months.

Aktenmuehle was founded in 1994 by Marc Metzlaff. Metzlaff will continue to oversee operations of Cintas Document Management Germany, serving as Managing Director – Document Destruction Germany.

This marks Cintas’ second acquisition in Europe. In 2007, Cintas acquired Certo Information Management, now known as Cintas Document Management Netherlands BV. Together, Cintas Document Management Germany and Cintas Document Management Netherlands will provide confidential, mobile document shredding and records storage solutions to businesses throughout Germany and the Netherlands.
