Expanded portfolio offers improved networking and wireless LAN integration for businesses
London Trade Fair, 25-27 March 2009-03-23
Olympia National Hall, Booth 130
23 March, 2009 – At this year’s London IPTV World Forum, devolo will be presenting its B2B powerline networking product portfolio, with products including the dLAN 200 AVplus and AV modules for improved LAN integration.
The extended B2B portfolio has been developed to offer businesses improved network performance and wireless LAN integration, to meet business requirements and streamline the management of dLAN networks.
dLAN 200 AVplus & dLAN 200 AVpro WP – improved HomePlug performance and smart design
With their integrated earthed socket, the dLAN 200 Avplus and dLAN 200 AVpro WP accommodate any electrical device or multi-way adaptor, enabling businesses to use HomePlug technology even if few wall sockets are available. Scalable upgrades support up to 63 slaves per master.
The smart design of the adaptors and their integrated mains filter help to reduce interference in the powerline network, improving transmission quality and bandwidth, which is measured and displayed on the unit.
The adaptors have integrated professional and configuration functions and Quality of Service (QoS) to support automatic data prioritisation, notching and output power. Remote control is also available via the devolo management software dLAN 200 AVmanager v2.
AV module / AV mini PCI – direct integration for network-compatible terminal devices
devolo’s AV module and streamlined Mini-PCI version supports direct integration into terminal devices. This enables network-compatible terminal devices such as set-top boxes to communicate with each other over existing electrical wiring, without the need for Ethernet cabling.
dLAN 200 AVpro host wireless N – simple wireless LAN integration into HomePlug networks
The dLAN 200 AVpro host wireless N supports customised HomePlug network solutions based on coaxial, electric or telephone lines, with transfer rates up to 200 Mbps. The solution removes the need for new wiring or for changes to an existing antenna network, simplifying the integration of a wireless LAN network.
A single device can handle segment sizes with up to 253 slaves and the integrated wireless LAN technology with B, G and N standards allows the device to be used as a Wireless LAN access point, bridge or client. In addition, remote management via SNMP or a Web interface saves time and lowers costs.
devolo’s dLAN 200 AVpro host wireless N has a number of applications, and can be used on small to mid-size HFC networks as well as satellite distribution systems and satellite IF distribution and broadband cable distribution for community antenna associations and in residential buildings.
dLAN TV Sat – satellite TV in HD quality on TVs and computers
The dLAN-TV-Sat system brings together the advantages of HomePlug technology and satellite reception, providing simple and convenient reception for digital satellite television in HD quality over existing electrical cabling.
Analogue TVs can be connected via SCART with the system’s HDMI connections, and a CI module allows you to insert smart cards to ensure optimum reception for encrypted programmes.
The dLAN-TV-Sat also provides improvements to existing satellite TV systems by allowing the user to record one programme while another TV channel is being viewed. This feature is also available if a coaxial satellite TV cable is being used.
All devolo HomePlug products are manufactured with high-quality components, such as long-lasting capacitors and an innovative thermal design. With 16 amps, they also feature outstanding short-circuit-proof performance. The patented PowerSave function enables the devices to reduce their energy consumption automatically when not in use.
“Thanks to our numerous OEM customers, devolo has become the leading European Powerline provider in the B2B segment. We were able to gain even more new customers by introducing the dLAN 200 AVplus,” says Heiko Harbers, CEO of devolo AG. “For 2009, devolo expects this segment to continue booming, and thus can offer network operators a real alternative. In particular, demand for HomePlug integration modules such as the dLAN 200 AVmini PCI is increasing tremendously.”
At the IPTV World Forum in London, devolo is also presenting its new business partner concept, with which system integrators have direct access to the developer resources of devolo’s engineers.
