Yell launches new 118 24 7 text service

- Yell chooses WIN plc to provide the software platform

- 118 24 7’s first ever stand-alone TV ad campaign launched to support the service

Yell, the international directories business, has launched “118 24 7 TextBack” – a new SMS service which allows consumers to quickly text simple directory enquiry requests for classified business information. They then receive a fast text response that contains an embedded link to call the business telephone number directly.

The new service launch is being supported by Yell’s first ever stand-alone TV ad campaign for its UK business directory enquiries service
The campaign started on March 20th across major terrestrial, satellite and cable channels, and also national and local radio.
118 24 7 TextBack is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by the same team that handles the telephone directory service.
Mark Canon, president of new media for Yell UK, said: “For occasions when making a phone call isn’t appropriate, 118 24 7 TextBack makes it easy to locate and call a late-night taxi, a nearby Italian restaurant, or find out cinema information and film timings.
