DQ Entertainment’s “The Pinky & Perky” show in the running for top international awards

Hyderabad based animation major DQE’s The ‘Pinky & Perky TV series’ is in the running for top international awards at the International Television and Multimedia Animation Festival, being held in Portofino, Italy in April later this year.

DQ Entertainment International (“DQE”) is co-producing Pinky and Perky with Pinky & Perky Enterprises and Method Films, France. The 52-part CGI animated series is aimed at 6-11 year olds, with Pinky & Perky staging their own live children’s TV show each week featuring cartoons, gunge tanks and celebrity guests. The series has been commissioned by CBBC and France 3.

The show is in the running for top international awards at the International Television and Multimedia Animation Festival, being held in Portofino, Italy in April. The pigs are up for consideration in several categories: The Best TV Series for Tween Generation, Best Animated Character of the Year, Best Series for All Ages of the Year, Best European Production of the Year and Best Soundtrack of the Year. The 13th Pulcinella Awards at the International Television and Multimedia Animation Festival will be held from 2nd – 5th April in Italy promoted by RAI and organised by RAI Trade in cooperation with RAI Fiction.

At the height of its popularity in the 1960s, The Pinky & Perky Show was watched regularly by more than 15million viewers.

After proving a hit on CBBC, the super star twin pigs, Pinky and Perky have landed a daily slot on BBC1. THE PINKY AND PERKY SHOW has been running on CBBC since November 3 of last year and has recently been pulling in the highest ratings on the channel.

THE PINKY AND PERKY SHOW has huge appeal for a whole new generation of fans. The new show is already attracting broadcasting interest from around the world, with international TV sales being handled by Granada International — it is due to go out on France 3 and ABC in Australia this year, with sales also confirmed in the Nordic countries.
