Busy Infotech P. Ltd (BIPL) to provide business accounting software free of cost

New Delhi, April 2, 2009: Busy Infotech Pvt. Ltd. (BIPL), and NASSCOM Foundation (NF) will offer BIPL’s flagship product ‘BUSY’ an accounting and inventory software to non-profit groups and community organizations. Many NGOs stand to benefit from this collaborative effort which provides this software free of cost. BIPL will be the fourth donor besides software giant Microsoft, Eagle Net and Bytes of Learning under NF’s BiG Tech programme. BiG Tech assists NGOs, charities and non-profits access to the free software, hardware and other philanthropic donation programs of donor partners. Till date over 1620 products worth Rs.27.80 million have been donated. BiG Tech has reached over 138 districts across 22 states in India.

Speaking about NASSCOM Foundation’s role, Ms Rufina Fernandes, CEO said, “The BUSY software can help NGOs in ensuring better funds accountability, efficient management systems and ultimately greater on-the-ground impact. Additionally NGOs can also leverage BUSY for training rural youth and creating opportunities for those who cannot afford the expensive accounting courses currently being offered in private institutes.

We also congratulate BIPL to be the first Indian Company from our NASSCOM membership to become a donor on BiG Tech. We hope this encourages more Indian technology companies to leverage the BiG Tech platform as a strategic tool to reach out to the millions of NGOs and Non-profits not only in our country but also internationally through the rapidly expanding TechSoup Global network.”

BUSY donations could be availed by non-profits whose aim is to provide relief to the poor, advancement of education, advancement of social and community welfare, advancement of culture, advancement of the natural environment or those that generally benefit communities through their work. Additional types of organizations that may be considered as eligible to receive BUSY donations through the BiG Tech program include Public libraries for public access purposes, Public museums, Humanitarian assistance and disaster relief organizations, Community health clinics, Behavioral healthcare nonprofits that provide mental health, chemical dependency and other psychosocial services to the community, Women’s health centers, Blood banks, Trade associations with nonprofit status that have charitable aims and activities etc. Organizations can register on www.bigtech.in and seek more detailed information for receiving the donations.

Mr. Dinesh Kumar Gupta, Managing Director, Busy Infotech Pvt. Ltd. said, “BIPL deals in development and marketing of business application softwares for SMEs. We have always striven to create software products which are easy-to-use, powerful and yet affordable. Partnering with the social program of NASSCOM Foundation is indeed a matter of pride for a company like BIPL which aims to provide the best possible and highest quality of accounting solutions. As a corporate donor to the program, we are privileged to have the opportunity to fulfill our social responsibilities by offering BUSY software to the less fortunate, who will immensely benefit from it”.

The alternatives for accounting packages that are available come at a higher cost for these NGOs who could save these monies and utilize the same in their developmental work. Apart from the pricing, the learning curve for other accounting softwares is also steep as it requires professional / vocational courses by the software company. In comparison, BUSY product expertise can be gained in couple of weeks and requires only basic accounting skills as a pre-requisite. BUSY software is one of the leading accounting and inventory software in India with over 50,000 installations and three lac users (approx.) worldwide. BUSY is an Integrated Business Accounting Software that covers Financial Accounting (Multi-Currency), Multi-location Inventory, Delivery Challan, Order Processing, Invoicing (Fully User-configurable), Document Printing, Statutory Reports (Sales Tax, VAT, Excise, Service Tax, TDS, FBT) and MIS.
