Logitech and Grouper Simplify the Fun of Webcam Video Sharing

Logitech (SWX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI), the world´s leading manufacturer of webcams, today announced a co-marketing agreement with Grouper Networks Inc., the fastest growing destination site for user-generated video, that will enable people using Logitech® QuickCam® webcams to upload, share and comment on their videos on the Web. Logitech plans to provide an integrated link to Grouper.com within the next-generation Logitech® QuickCam software, which will enable webcam owners to easily record shout-outs, videos and comments using Logitech® Video Effects, and post them directly to Grouper.com. In return, Grouper has made Logitech the recommended webcam provider for its customers.

Logitech also announced that it will soon add Grills by Paul Wall to the growing list of Video Effects. The Grills by Paul Wall group is working with Logitech to develop five animated grills, diamond-encrusted teeth coverings, which QuickCam users will be able to download as face accessories beginning in August. These grills will be replicas of actual “Grills by Paul Wall” products.

“Logitech webcams have helped drive the growing popularity of personal expression on the Internet,” said Gina Clark, Logitech´s vice president of product marketing for Internet communications. “Now, even more webcam users can be part of creating video shouts out with the simple click of a button on Grouper.com. Our popular Video Effects software encourages webcam users to be creative and have fun with their video recordings, and we have seen a tremendous uptake in the interest for cool new video effects such as Grills by Paul Wall.”

“There is a groundswell of user-generated video populating the Web, and creating a fun and innovative environment to participate in this movement is essential,” said Josh Felser, CEO and co-founder, Grouper Networks, Inc. “By working with companies like Logitech, Grouper is leading the movement away from pure destination Web sites, to an age where media creation, origination and syndication by Grouper´s members will occur with ease and regularity on third party Web sites and connected devices.”
