Insyde® Software Announces Quick-to-Launch Technology to Complement Third-Party Instant-On Solutions

UEFI-based InsydeQ2L™ Delivers a Seamless “Quick-Boot” Experience for Mobile Computer and Netbook Users

Insyde Software, a leading provider of UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) based firmware, BIOS, and engineering services, today announced an innovative instant-on solution with the unveiling of InsydeQ2L™ for mobile PC OEMs and ODMs.

InsydeQ2L is a firmware product stored in the BIOS ROM. Along with reducing boot time, it also provides an integration platform for secondary, instant-on operating environments. These environments allow users to more quickly launch applications, especially when a boot to Windows® is not necessary or desired. Additionally, InsydeQ2L functions seamlessly in computers featuring Windows operating systems, allowing PC users to regularly boot Windows and operate their computers normally.

InsydeQ2L is available today for technical evaluation by OEMs and ODMs that use the company’s InsydeH2O UEFI firmware product. The product is modular and highly customizable, allowing notebook and netbook makers significant opportunity to differentiate their product lines and add their own value.
