Cooliris, the company advancing visual navigation for an increasingly media-centric Internet, today announced the introduction of its newest application, the Cooliris Wall. The Cooliris Wall allows users to scan an expansive 3D Wall of content from popular social media sites like YouTube and Facebook, professional news and entertainment sources, popular gaming sites, and users’ own computers. The latest version of Cooliris is available today for the PC, Mac, and Linux platforms, and can be downloaded at www.cooliris.com.

The company also announced that it has completed more than $15 million in Series B funding from a group of blue chip investors including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, DAG Ventures, The Westly Group and the T-Mobile Venture Fund. As a company, Cooliris focuses on offering a better way to navigate images, video, and other media content and has rapidly become a major success. Tens of millions of users have downloaded the product, with daily unique download counts topping 50,000.

The Cooliris Wall was designed to help users discover and consume the overabundance of rich media on the web. To put this into perspective, more than 13 hours of video are added to YouTube every minute, hundreds of hours of premium television content are being added to sites like Hulu, and more than 850 million photos are uploaded to Facebook every month. The Cooliris interface allows users to scan through significantly more content on these sites than what is possible in a standard web interface.

Cooliris is also extending its presence beyond just the web. The latest version of the application now supports desktop photos so users can show off photos to their family and friends from their own computer on the Cooliris Wall. Users can also take the experience on the go – Cooliris for iPhone has already received over 800,000 downloads to date.

Major publishers have been catching on to the value that the Cooliris visual navigation experience brings to their users. In mid-March, television show Live! with Regis and Kelly used the Cooliris Embed Wall to showcase their annual “Beautiful Baby Search” contest. “We like to work closely with online publishers to enable a more engaging experience for their users,” said Marc Shedroff, Head of Distribution and Partnerships. “Equally important is that this higher level of engagement can help web publishers drive incremental views of their content.”

The success of Cooliris has attracted a vast array of popular and premium content providers. Cooliris users can peruse the latest TV episodes from Hulu, scan up-to-the-minute news headlines from The New York Times and CNN, or browse the latest sports and celebrity news headlines. Publishers have been quick to syndicate to Cooliris because of increased views of their monetized content and additional traffic to their own site. Advertisements presented in Cooliris also attain best-in-class engagement numbers, with users clicking advertisements 6x more often than traditional video advertisements on the web.
