New Delhi, August 1, 2006 – Eastern Software System (ESS), India’s premier ERP company offering cutting edge technology solutions and services today announced that it has translated its flagship product ebizframe successfully into five international languages—Arabic, French, Russian, Spanish and Thai. Having attained success and leadership amidst Indian small and medium businesses (SMBs), ESS forayed into international markets as well. It has received phenomenal response globally and this necessitated the language translation initiative at ESS such that ebizframe ERP can be made available to businesses in these geographies in their own language thereby enhancing the acceptability of the product world over.

With this initiative, ESS has joined the select club of Indian software product companies to go global and make their offering available in leading international languages.

ESS has been participating aggressively in international exhibitions and trade shows. ESS also participated in India Business Network (IBN) conference at Tanzania, KITEL 2006 at Almaty, Kazakhstan; FUTUREX 2006 at Sandton City, Johannesburg, South Africa; and AITEC 2006 at Ghana (West Africa). The translation happens at the user interface (GUI) level. ESS will continue the language translation initiative by developing some screens in other leading languages of the world first and then gauging the response from particular international market geographies to proceed further. The decision for complete language translation is taken only if a live implementation is required. The choice of languages is purely dependent on the business potential of market geography. The translation initiative is primarily being done in-house by ESS technical and language experts. Once the translation is complete, the customized product is handed over to independent experts for a recheck.

It takes different approaches and investment in time to translate a product into a particular international language. The time taken to complete a language initiative is typically between 6 to 18 man months.
