ZyXEL Announces DOCSIS® 3.0-Certified eMTA

High Performance eMTA allows operators to deliver blazing broadband speed and dual functionality in a single box

ZyXEL Communications Inc., a leading provider of secure broadband networking, Internet connectivity and routing products, today announced it had achieved certified status for CableLabs® Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications (DOCSIS®) 3.0 and PackeCable® 1.5 on behalf of its P-2910 Series. The P-2910 Series offers blistering fast speeds of upto160Mbps with two phone lines and four gigabit Ethernet ports.

ZyXEL P-2910 is certified to meet the DOCSIS 3.0 specifications, which feature support of four bonded downstream channels and four bonded upstream channels. It is designed to be backward-compatible for use as a single-channel cable modem with DOCSIS 1.1/1.0 and 2.0 networks. This comprehensive approach to interoperability makes the ZyXEL DOCSIS 3.0 P-2910 Series ideal for high-speed multiple-play services – clear voice, and ultra high-speed data.

With regard to speed, the gateway provides channel bonding for up to 160Mbs—faster than any copper connections and above and beyond most residential and home-office connections today.
