Globe Telecom, a leading telecommunications company in the Philippines, has upgraded its prepaid charging system to Nokia Siemens Networks’ prepaid solution. This will allow the service provider to improve the mobile experience of its customers while increasing operational efficiency.

Globe takes pride in offering innovative and high-quality services to its customers. By providing services and price plans that match their subscribers’ individual needs, Globe serves them better and improves their customer experience. Nokia Siemens Networks’ prepaid solution enables Globe to launch these kinds of targeted, value-adding services, tariffs, promotions, and discounts.

Flexible, transparent and efficient charging is essential for ensuring customer experience and new revenue generation, as well as improve operational efficiency. By upgrading its charging system, Globe has decreased the number of charging platforms by one third – reducing the hardware footprint and power consumption.

“Operational efficiency and revenue generation are fundamental for service providers in a highly competitive environment. Due to its design for fast service and feature introduction and adaptation, our prepaid solution is ideal for innovative service providers, such as Globe, who always strive to offer new services and transparent pricing for their customers,” says Tapani Sairanen, Head of Customer Team, Nokia Siemens Networks.

The productized prepaid solution is based on charge@once select and charge@once topup, and is integrated to both Globe IT and Services platforms, as well as to Nokia Siemens Networks’ and third-party network platforms. It also integrates both voice and data services onto the same platform, with a single on-line balance for end user customers. Nokia Siemens Networks provided development, testing, implementation and project management services to ensure a smooth charging system modernization for Globe.
