New International Partners Include Cartoon Network’s Boomerang Channel, Latin America,
YLE in Finland and Teleview in the Middle East

For Immediate Release:

(Toronto) (April 21, 2009)— Canada’s 9 Story Entertainment announced today a trio of new broadcast sales for their teen-targeted outdoor survival series, Survive This, including Cartoon Network’s Boomerang Channel Latin America, YLE in Finland and Teleview in the Middle East. These latest deals for the popular original series come on the heels of a successful premiere on YTV, Canada and the recent announcement by US broadcast partner Cartoon Network of the show’s scheduled launch in June.

“The challenges these teens face make for some of the most compelling television for kids and adults alike resulting in an authentic co-viewing entertainment experience” said Natalie Osborne, Executive-Vice President of Business Development, 9 Story Entertainment “This show has already made a strong impact on young Canadians who’ve seen the first episodes on YTV and we are thrilled that these new and valued broadcast partners on Survive This are equally excited about sharing this program with their audience.”

Created and produced by 9 Story Entertainment and wilderness survival expert Les “Survivorman” Stroud, Survive This features eight participants between the ages of 14 and 17 chosen for their unique personalities and readiness for adventure, who are challenged to push their limits, overcome their fears and develop lifelong survival skills throughout each half-hour episode in the 13-part series. Leaving all the amenities of home behind, including cell phones and IPods, the teens must face rigorous challenges including: building a shelter; finding food and water; starting a fire; signaling for rescue; coping with hypothermia; and treating an injury. The teens who are willing to learn and grow under the most difficult survival situations will make it through to the show’s one-hour final episode, or they can choose to drop out as the survival challenges become progressively more difficult. It’s the ultimate wilderness adventure that changes the lives of these eight teenagers forever.

“The anticipation of seeing each challenge’s outcome is something that easily translates globally and we are looking forward to the audience reaction in every region of the globe,” says Osborne.
