Feed The Children, Half Price Books and Oklahoma Education Association to Give 50,000 Books to Oklahoma Elementary School Libraries

Books Donated by Half Price Books
Feed The Children, in partnership with Half Price Books and the Oklahoma Education Association, will provide Oklahoma elementary school libraries with over 50,000 books on Saturday, May 9. Distribution will take place at the Feed The Children Warehouse, 29 McCormick Street (Located off Reno between Meridian and McArthur) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Books were donated by Half Price Books to celebrate the opening of a new store at 6500 N. May in Oklahoma City. The store will open on Thursday, May 21, and an opening celebration will be held at the store from May 21 until Sunday, May 24.
School districts included in the distribution are Oklahoma City, Putnam City, Western Heights, Mustang, Mid-Del, Crutcho, Edmond, El Reno, Choctaw/Nicoma Park, Yukon, Bethany, Bridgeport, Guthrie, Millwood, Newcastle, Minco, Crooked Oak, Piedmont, Moore, and Deer Creek.
“We are pleased to partner with Half Price Books and the Oklahoma Education Association to be able to provide school children in Oklahoma City with these fundamental tools for success,” said Larry Jones, founder and president of Feed The Children. “Reading can go a long way towards helping to reverse the cycle of poverty faced by many school children.”
