WiFi Pilot Bundle Components

AirPcap 802.11 WLAN Adapter

WiFi Pilot works exclusively with the AirPcap Family of WLAN packet capture adapters under Windows. AirPcap adapters are USB-based and capture full 802.11 data, management, and control frames. They range from an 802.11b/g capture-only adapter to an 802.11a/b/g/n capture and injection adapter with two external MC-Card connectors for optional antennas

The integration with AirPcap adapters makes WiFi Pilot the only product to offer full multi-channel packet capture from a laptop-based system. WiFi Pilot, combined with either an AirPcap Ex or AirPcap Nx adapter, can also inject frames into your network to speed up WPA and WPA2 decryption, assuring more effective data analysis and troubleshooting for wireless networks.

Wi-Spy

The WiFi Pilot Bundle includes either Wi-Spy v1 (802.11b/g, Chanalyzer 2.1), Wi-Spy 2.4x (802.11b/g, external antenna, Chanalyzer 3.2), or Wi-Spy DBx (802.11a/b/g/n, external antenna, Chanalyzer 3.2). With Wi-Spy you can:

WiFi Pilot Application

The WiFi Pilot analyzer is the core of the WiFi Pilot Bundle. A wireless-only subset of the popular CACE Pilot network analysis, visualization, and reporting tool, WiFi Pilot provides the same rich UI with all of the display, drill-down and reporting features, but with an 802.11, MAC-level-specific focus.

Wireshark Integration

WiFi Pilot and the AirPcap adapters are fully integrated with Wireshark, allowing you to leverage the world’s most widely-deployed network analyzer. WiFi Pilot makes it possible to select a wireless traffic source and view it with Wireshark. Using WiFi Pilot’s Channel selection interface, you have complete control of your AirPcap adapters while capturing with Wireshark, and access to Wireshark’s prodigious dissector library for deep 802.11 packet analysis and the corresponding display filters.
