IBM Introduces New Storage Systems and Enhancements Targeting Small and Medium Businesses

IBM (NYSE: IBM) today boosted the scalability, capacity and performance of its ground-breaking IBM® System Storageâ„¢ DS4000 Series by introducing a new model — the DS4200 Express — as well as major enhancements across other models in the DS4000 family to support the storage needs of small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The new DS4200 Express and the enhanced DS4000 products will help clients more easily implement tiered data storage environments, while offering robust data protection and duplication features.

The DS4200 Express is designed to provide a low total cost of ownership (TCO), high performance, robust functionality and unmatched ease of use for SMBs and enterprise workgroups. New options and features are also available across a range of other products within the DS4000 Series product line, a family of scalable storage systems designed to accommodate the changing value of data over time, while helping maintain data availability.

“Today’s announcement tackles one of the hottest segments of the storage marketplace with new systems, performance, and scalability for companies of all sizes,” said Barry Rudolph, Vice President Storage Portfolio Management, Disk, and Software. “With the latest additions to the DS4000 series, clients can now find the solution they need with the right focus on reliability, capacity and price.”
