Global Knowledge announces the availability of two hands-on VMware® vSphere™ training courses: VMware vSphere: What’s New [V4] and VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V4].
In VMware vSphere: What’s New [V4], students will explore the new features in VMware vCenter Server 4 and ESX™/ESXi 4, and they will learn how to upgrade from VMware Infrastructure 3 to VMware vSphere. Students will learn to ensure application availability with VMware Fault Tolerance, to save disk space with thin provisioning, and to deploy distributed virtual switches to simplify data center-wide network management. Students will also learn to manage more than one vCenter Server from the same client and to administer virtual appliances consisting of more than one virtual machine.
This two-day VMware vSphere training course is designed for system architects, system administrators, IT managers, and individuals responsible for implementing and managing VMware Infrastructure architectures. Students will work with VMDirectPath, VMware Distributed Power Management, and VMware’s new Pluggable Storage Architecture. Incoming students should have completed VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure or have equivalent experience with VMware ESX and vCenter Server.
In the four-day VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V4], students will learn to install, configure, and manage VMware vSphere, which consists of VMware ESXi/ESX and VMware vCenter Server. They will learn to deploy and manage virtual machines, manage user access to the VMware Infrastructure, and use vCenter Update Manager to apply patches. Students will also learn to use vCenter Server to configure and manage ESX networking and storage, increase scalability, monitor resource usage, and manage higher availability and data protection.
This VMware vSphere training course is based on ESXi 4.0, ESX 4.0, and vCenter Server 4.0 and is designed for system administrators, systems engineers, and operators responsible for ESXi, ESX, and/or vCenter Server. Incoming students should have system administration experience on Microsoft Windows or Linux operating systems. Upon completion of VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V4], students can take the examination to become a VMware Certified Professional.
VMware vSphere: What’s New [V4] and VMware vSphere: Install, Configure, Manage [V4] are available in our classrooms, live over the Internet in a virtual classroom, or as private, on-site courses that can be tailored to the needs of your organization.
