Reality Digital Powers “Remix Your Holiday” Global Contest for Philippines Department of Tourism

“Awesome Philippines” is the first social media campaign site of its kind aimed at the young adult traveler market worldwide

The “Remix Your Holiday” campaign (www.awesomephilippines.com) is geared toward increasing awareness with millions of young, international, music fans and travelers from Australia, Canada, China, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, United Kingdom, the U.S., and domestically within the Philippines. The campaign marks the first time a Department of Tourism agency has targeted the young adult traveler market in such an expansive and powerful way.
As the tourism industry continues to look for new and exciting ways to attract visitors to their geographic and online destinations, social media continues to play an integral part of the campaign program. MTV Asia and the Philippines Department of Tourism worked together to create this first-of-its-kind strategy to attract young adults to the Philippines. Unlike other travel and tourism industry campaigns, MTV Asia and the Philippines Department of Tourism took the unique approach to lead the campaign with a social media promotion that launched nearly a month prior to the traditional TV and print media campaign buys. Reality Digital’s Opus platform provided the backend technology needed to power the “Remix Your Holiday” video contest to a worldwide audience, in a short timeframe and in multiple languages.
Using the white-label Reality Digital Opus platform and integrated Adobe® Premiere Express Service, “Awesome Philippines” site visitors can create and share their own remixed videos of popular Philippine travel spots, using stock footage of the country’s top tourist attractions, provided by MTV. At the contest’s conclusion, eleven winners, one from each country, and their guests, will win the perfect holiday in the Philippines courtesy of the Philippines Department of Tourism. MTV is promoting the contest through on-air VJ vignettes on MTV stations around the world.
