Kentucky Selects Dell for Services, Desktop and Notebook Contract Worth up to $100 Million
The Commonwealth of Kentucky has selected Dell as its provider of technology services, desktops and notebooks in a deal anticipated to be worth up to $100 million over 10 years. The initial two-year contract is anticipated to be worth up to $10 million annually, with options to extend for four additional two-year periods.
Dell will provide Dell OptiplexTM desktops and Latitude notebooks. All systems will come preloaded with common software to create an efficient, standards-based computing model statewide. Dell will also provide all state agencies with asset tagging, data migration and imaging technologies. Additionally, Dell will provide services ranging from an employee-purchase program to installation and asset recovery. To help ensure customer satisfaction, an onsite Dell professional will serve as a single point of contact.
“With the constant pressure on state governments to manage their spending, we can share best practices that allow states to drive their own cost savings,” said Kim Fury-Jennings, director of sales for Dell’s state and local government segment. “Kentucky was able to leverage its strategic purchasing power to provide cost-efficient, standardized technology to its agencies while ensuring the capability to provide a high value for its taxpayers.”
