Kaplan Higher Education, a division of Kaplan, Inc, announced that Technology Education College is now known as Kaplan College.

Today, the campus hosted a ceremony to celebrate its new name. Highlights included remarks from Colleen McDermott, interim executive director of Kaplan College; Beth Hollenberg, senior vice president of campus initiatives and support for Kaplan Higher Education; and City Councilman Troy Miller.

By changing its name to Kaplan College, the Columbus-based school is formally recognized as being part of the Kaplan family. Kaplan, Inc. is a global provider of education services, and its name reflects a long-standing reputation for excellence.

“With campuses across the country, the Kaplan name brings national recognition to our school with a well known reputation among educators and employers,” said McDermott.

“We welcome the Kaplan College name to Columbus, Ohio,” said Councilman Miller.

“Congresswoman Kilroy knows that education is key to turning this economy around,” said Andi Clark, senior field representative for Rep. Mary Jo Kilroy. “She would like to thank Kaplan College for their part in providing access to education in central Ohio.”

The Kaplan College Columbus campus is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). The campus serves nearly 450 students and currently offers associate degrees in criminal justice and engineering drafting with CAD; and diplomas in medical assisting and computer support technician.
