Bengaluru, May 27, 2009: Not even two months down the soft launch, Tally ERP.9 has already won over 60, 000 takers. During the tumultuous period of economic downturn, this is a laudable feat for any company.
India’s leading accounting software major, Tally Solutions Private Limited launched Tally.ERP 9 in April. The latest path-breaking product has kept its promise to change the way business was practiced in the past.
Tally also introduced an enabling environment called Tally.NET which, together with the Tally.ERP 9 version, will provide its users remote access to their business data.

Tally.ERP 9 comes with features that help simplify business operations while providing complete control over the accounting, inventory and statutory processes. Tally.ERP 9 possesses a multi-lingual and data synchronization capability which allows the transaction of business without any language barriers or geographical boundaries.
The introduction of “Integrated Support Centre” will help the Tally.ERP 9 customers query on any issue from within the product. What is interesting about this is that the customer will have visibility to the solutions being provided by Tally, his Tally Partner or his CA (if he has given the permissions) on a real-time basis. He can also archive these solutions for future references.
There is also the new “Control Centre” which helps customers manage their Tally.ERP 9 license from within the product providing for easier license management. In case of users having multiple Tally.ERP 9 licenses, all Tally configurations can be made from a central location by the administrator, with no requirement to configure locally, at all branches/locations.
In addition, the software is not vulnerable to data hacking making it fully secure.
“Tally.ERP 9 also includes an edition exclusively designed for Chartered Accountants called Tally.ERP 9 – Auditors’ Edition which will enable CAs to access their clients’ data remotely i.e., from his choice of location, cutting down the client site visits drastically. The objective is to increase audit efficiency, cut costs and help CAs in providing business advisory services to their clients,” added Mr. Goenka.
The other enhanced features in the product to facilitate efficient business operations include Excise for manufacturers, enhanced Payroll & TDS capabilities, VAT, CST etc.
Tally.ERP 9 is also designed for easier implementation to suit individual business processes. It helps identify troublesome debtors and persistent late payers, helping in making the right decision. It also facilitates the calculation of interest on dues, loans etc., based on certain set criteria or specified dates and time periods. One can also customize the calculation of interest to change after a certain time period, or based on other pre-defined conditions. Another key feature is that it allows one to maintain up to 99,999 companies concurrently.
As regards the future value-adds to the product, Mr. Goenka said, “This is just the beginning. The product in future will have the feature of remote access capability through SMS and web browser. We are also planning on introducing a subscription model of the product so that one can choose to subscribe to the product for a specific period only.”
