SAMSUNG Introduces New 19″, 20″, And 22″ LCD Widescreen Monitors For Retail And Commercial Applications

Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of professional LCD and PDP display products, today introduced its latest 19-, 20- and 22-inch widescreen LCD monitors to its award-winning line of SyncMaster displays, the SyncMaster 940BW, SyncMaster 205BW and SyncMaster 225BW. The new monitors are designed for both retail and commercial applications, and feature a slim design and ultra narrow bezel. The monitors boast a wide format as well as features such as Samsung’s own MagicTuneâ„¢, MagicBrightIIâ„¢ and MagicSpeedâ„¢ technologies, and digital / analog dual inputs and a built-in power supply. All three monitors are VESA® wall-mount compatible.

“Our new wide format products offer a more natural viewing experience coupled with a super fast response time to help reduce blurring images, and can aid in increased productivity by giving users the ability to view multiple documents at once. This makes the displays a desirable offering for both commercial and retail applications,” said Andrew Weis, product marketing manager, display products, Samsung Electronics America, Inc. “Samsung prides itself on being a leading innovator of top-quality products, and the 940BW, 205BW and 225BW are excellent compliments to our portfolio of award-winning monitors.”

The 940BW, priced at $269.99 MSRP, also offers a WXGA+ (1440×900) wide format, 500:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, and a 4ms (GTG) response time. Similarly, the 205BW also features a quick response time of 6ms, 300 cd/m2 brightness, a contrast ratio of 600:1, and a WSXGA+ (1680×1050) wide format, all for $349.99 MSRP. And finally, the 225BW features a 700:1 contrast ratio, 1680×1050 resolution, and a 5ms response time for $399.99 MSRP.

Intended for both retail and commercial applications, the new widescreen monitors can be used across a variety of industries including manufacturing, engineering, banking and various digital signage applications such as food service, transportation and healthcare. Home users will experience very high resolution video images and superb quality due to the HDCP supported Digital Visual Interface (DVI). Combined with quick response times, these features make the monitors ideal for viewing DVDs and games.
