FileWave Ships FileWave Inventory™ Version 9.0

FileWave, a technology leader for software management on the Mac OS X, Windows and Linux platforms, is pleased to announce the release of FileWave Inventory™ version 9. The new version allows customers to meet the ever-growing requirements for asset and inventory management. Major new features include: Purchase Order Management, Maintenance Contract Management as well as a Vendor and Product database.

FileWave Inventory™ is FileWave’s IT software and hardware inventory management solution for Mac OS and Windows PCs as well as for all SNMP supported devices. Client computers automatically send all information to the centralized SQL database where reports are run to easily verify license compliance and compute financial values useful in Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) compliance.

FileWave Inventory™ 9 brings you a new and comprehensive way to manage all of the IT assets in your estate. The new solution also offers increased security features such as being able to limit data accessibility by department, OS type, location and other user definable criteria and its improved web based user interface now uses Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) to provide a Web 2.0 experience.

With our new features we allow the customer to define both products and vendors and to then directly create a purchase order from this information. By linking the license information and the audits reports you can automatically generate email notifications to administrators or departmental heads to inform them about any installation that causes license violations.
