C-DAC releases ISM V6 for Indian Language Computing

Software supports 19 Indian Languages for Office and Home users
India, July 02, 2009: Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), has been the pioneer of Indian language computing in the country with a rich history of research and innovation towards putting Indian Languages on the map of digital computing. With over twenty years of pioneering research in Language Technology, C-DAC through its Graphics and Intelligence based Script Technology (GIST) Group has spearheaded the development and deployment of several innovative products and cutting edge technology which have revolutionized computing and made GIST synonymous with Indian Language Computing.
GIST Group of C-DAC has now released ISM V6, the latest product from their celebrated range of ISM software, which has evolved to provide the state-of-the-art Indian language edge to existing as well as custom, designed application software. The latest ISM V6 is completely UNICODE compliant which offers support for Open Type fonts. ISM V6 will cater to diverse user requirements from word processing, database applications, web based applications, publishing and even custom built software.

Rich collection of designs and clip arts
Enhanced Spellchecker for Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali
Open Office and MS Word macros like Find-replace, Keyboard shortcut, Convert macro, Spellchecker, Synonym dictionary and Official Language Dictionary available for documents in Open Type Font.
Transliteration macro is provided as macro to convert English words to Hindi.
Now one more keyboard named as ‘Easy Phonetic’. User can type Indian Language words as easily as users type them in English during chatting and emails.
Floating keyboard with transparent effect is added so that user can type on any editor using floating keyboard and also can see the editors behind floating keyboard at the same time.
Now it is possible to Convert data in any fonttype (like BiWeb, BI, and MONO) to Unicode and make it available globally using Convert macro.
ISM Installer automatically modifies the settings necessary for Indian Language typing in the word processors as well as operating system
With Date & Time, user can genarate any number,date or time in Indian language in different formats.It is also possible to transfer those numbers,dates and time generated to any editor in Unicode format on single click.
With official language dictionary it is possible to transfer, display data in Unicode format. It is possible to add words after typing in Unicode in personal dictionary.
