To deliver windows live instant messaging service to mobile subscribers

India, Tuesday, July 14, 2009 — Interactive Networks, Inc., (INI), a software provider of advanced instant messaging and value added solutions, announced that it recently launched the Windows Live Java service with Entel PCS, one of Chile’s largest mobile phone operators. Entel PCS is leveraging INI’s highly customizable messaging platform to fit the needs of its more than 6 million subscribers, who are among the first ones in Latin America to have the Windows Live Instant Messaging service adapted to their mobile phones.

Users can download for free Entel PCS’ Java-based application, which provides a superior, always-on connection to their friends and contacts. Entel PCS subscribers have 3 ways in which they can download the service: the first is to send a text message by typing “Live” to 4444; the second is to access the service thru Entel PCS WAP Portal, or they can visit Entel PCS’ website.

Microsoft’s Messenger platform has extensive penetration in Chile, with about 6.4 million monthly users, of which 94% have a Windows Live account, and 80% of them also use Hotmail. Given the popularity of Windows Live Messenger, Entel PCS expects to add around 100,000 users during the first year.

“The combined solution of INI’s flexible instant messaging platform and Windows Live allows our subscribers to be some of the very first throughout Latin America to access one of the most popular Internet tools, now from a mobile device, anywhere and anytime,” noted Alfredo Albetman, Product and Services Manager at Entel PCS. “Our Java version provides users with exceptional speed, performance, and a rich user interface compared to other mobile versions currently available.”

Entel PCS’ Java version provides mobile subscribers almost the same features as the PC version, including online access to Microsoft’s Hotmail and Spaces as well as the ability to open attached files, upload images, and share documents with others.

“This agreement that Interactive Networks struck with a market leader like Entel PCS underscores the advanced capabilities of its IM platform and its potential to help other carriers and handset manufacturers globally. We’re very pleased to have Interactive Networks as part of the Geodesic family so we can provide an extensive product portfolio all under one roof,” noted Arvind Venkateswaran, Geodesic’s senior vice president and general manager.

“We’re delighted to be working with Entel PCS and helping them deliver early access of Microsoft’s Windows Live services to its mobile subscribers. Working with Entel PCS underscores how Interactive Networks’ IM platform can be tailored to fit our customers’ requirements while delivering a superior user experience for user interface design and features,” said Andres Szafran, Interactive Networks’ vice president of Business Development.

Entel PCS provides users unlimited access to the service under three different plans: daily sessions, monthly subscription or a monthly subscription + Mobile Internet, available for both pre-paid and post-paid clients.
