Overview

Take control of a young thief named Alya Loot and prove yourself by stealing the most precious heirlooms of four decadent nobles. Explore the mansions, pick locks, trick guards, and grab everything that has not been nailed down – and most of what has been. Show your skills and maximize the spoils by making the most out of the 7 Trickster Spirit powers, including disguise and invisibility.

Emergent gameplay, open level structure and random nightly needs help to make sure that no two games are alike, providing a lot of replayability, while original characters and storyline ensure that the journey to the world of Treasure Grab is a charming one.

Tips

· Keep an eye on the arrows at the edges of the screen. They tell a lot about the movements of the guards.

· Use the Trickster Spirits! They can really make the difference.

· Pay attention to what Fling is looking for each night. The triple reward for the right item type can be the difference between a regular Cat Burglar and a true Master Thief.

· When choosing the target, the amount of lit windows in the mansions tells how many guards there are about.

· You don’t have to wait for the timer to run out to leave the mansion. If you are in trouble, head for the nearest exit.

Background

For the design team, Treasure Grab is a very personal and dear game project. It is the brain child of the lead designer and artist Antti Ojala, who came up with the original concept for Universomo’s first annual internal game design competition. As the winner of the competition, Treasure Grab became Universomo’s first original IP for many years, along with Chop Sushi!, published earlier this year.

The main inspirations for the game were, as strange combination as it might sound, Thief and Pac-Man. The team set out to create a game of breaking, entering and looting, inspired by Thief series on PC, but wanted to transform it into something lighter, more fast-paced, and better suited for mobile environment.

Enter Pac-Man and it’s concept of running in a maze filled with items to collect, trying to stay one step ahead of guards who will end your run if they catch you. Add to that the special powers provided by the Trickster Spirits helping to dumbfound the guards and an original cast of characters, and the ingredients for the game the team really wanted to create were ready.
