TSG Cites Open Source Downloads Increasing

Open Source Solutions becoming increasing popular for EMC Documentum customers

Technology Services Group, Inc. (TSG), a EMC (NASDAQ:EMC) Documentum integrator and open-source solution provider, today announced downloads of TSG Open Source solutions have increased 200% over the last six months.

“With the recession continuing to take a toll on IT budgets and support ending for the Documentum 5.3 platform this year, mature Documentum customers are increasingly looking for cost-effective ways to enhance their application now as well as prepare for future upgrade needs,” said Dave Giordano, President of Technology Services Group. “In discussions with Documentum users, many were looking for solutions they can deploy in their existing 5.3 environments for benefits now while simplifying the process of the upgrade to 6 this year. All of our solutions are certified on both 5.3 and 6.x providing a pain-free upgrade and migration approach.”

TSG provides Open Source solutions that enhance Documentum installations. Currently released products that have been certified by EMC® within the “Designed for EMC® Documentum®” accreditation program include OpenMigrate® for Documentum migrations, ActiveWizard® for form and workflow automation and the recently released High Performance Interface (HPI) ® for a web services based enhancement or alternative to Documentum Webtop. TSG has also released non-certified helpful open source tools including OpenContent, a web service framework, OpenAdmin for Documentum administration tool, OpenOverlay for PDF manipulation as well as many others.
