SAMSUNG Introduces 19″ TFT LCD Monitor That Features Nearly 100 Percent Of NTSC Color Gamut For CCFL Displays

Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of professional LCD and PDP display products, today introduced the SyncMaster 931C, a 19-inch TFT LCD monitor that features 97 percent of the NTSC (National Television System Committee) color gamut for CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) displays.

The new monitor provides a dazzling CCFL color range of 97 percent, well beyond the 82 percent rating typical of LCD displays. As a result, more vibrant, true-to-life images can be created. (The CCFL percentage refers to 97 percent coverage of the color standard set by the National Television System Committee, which provides technical standards for display products, broadcast equipment and video signal level in the United States. See the chromaticity diagram, below, for details.)

In addition to its wide color gamut, the SyncMaster 931C offer notable specifications, including a 2000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a fast 2ms (GTG) response time, 1280×1024 resolution, and 250 cd/m2 brightness. The 931C also offers a PrintViewer function, which enables the user to have an accurate preview of images for exact color printing.

The monitor’s innovative color performance and fast response time make it particularly well suited for gaming. In fact, the 931C is the official monitor of the 2006 World Cyber Games, the world’s blue-chip global game tournament and cultural festival, founded to promote international harmony through e-Sports competition.
