SEAGATE ENHANCES CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SUPPORT IN INDONESIA

Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX) has established a collection point in Indonesia to service its authorized distributors, resellers, strategic partners as well as end-users under Seagate’s warranty program, a move that continues the company’s development of best-in-class customer support in this important market. Beginning April 28, the Indonesian collection point will process return material authorization (RMA) disc drives at one central location, speeding up and simplifying the return and replacement procedures for Seagate disc drives.

“In establishing the Jakarta collection point, we are providing Seagate’s customers with yet another advantage in the Indonesian market,” said Robert ST Yang, Seagate’s sales director for Asia Pacific. “Our authorized distributors can now process returned drives much more quickly and cheaply which benefits both them and their customers. Combined with our five-year warranty on all of our internal disc drive products, the establishment of the collection point further demonstrates that Seagate is constantly looking for ways to help its customers’ develop their businesses. It is always our objective to add value in ways that are important to our strategic partners and customers.”

Previously, returns were shipped out of the country by distributors who were responsible for the shipping costs and customs and logistics issues. Now Seagate’s clients save time, money and effort with the new process. The Collection Point is located in Jakarta and is available for distributors, strategic partners as well as for end-users.

Furthermore, as a part of Seagate’s on-going efforts to provide valuable information to valued customers, Seagate has launched enhanced functionality for its Asia Pacific website in a move that will bring Seagate even closer to its customers in the region. The enhancements include new content on hard disc drive products and applications, and new self-service support features.

There are three new sections: New Products & Technologies, Retail Products and Support & Downloads. In addition to the comprehensive information on Seagate’s wide range of products, the site’s Support & Downloads section will enable customers and visitors to download Seagate diagnostic tools to meet their specific needs, and to get information on Seagate’s industry-leading five-year warranty.
