Hispano-Suiza Canada Improves Collaboration With IBM Software and Services
Canadian aerospace parts maker Hispano-Suiza Canada has employed software and services from IBM (NYSE: IBM) to improve communication and collaboration. Prior to the installation, Hispano-Suiza Canada had difficulty working electronically with its France-based parent company. Messages between the two companies could arrive corrupted and they were unable to access each other’s calendars. IBM Software Services for Lotus developed an installation and migration plan, implemented Lotus Notes and Domino on Linux, and provided training and support services.
“Before installing Lotus, collaborating with our head office could be challenging,” said Adam Woodhouse, MIS Applications Specialist, Hispano-Suiza Canada. “Sharing technical information on joint projects was difficult and because the calendaring systems weren’t compatible, it was easy to miss meetings. Since we started using Lotus Notes it’s been smooth sailing and we’re working much more effectively together.”
Working with SilverBlaze, an IBM Business Partner, IBM’s services team installed and configured Lotus Domino Server V7.0.1, running on SUSE Linux V9, and migrated 150 Hispano-Suiza users to IBM Lotus Notes. The new Lotus Domino platform can also provide additional value to Hispano-Suiza Canada, as the company can build custom communication and collaboration applications on the platform.
