Political Talk Shows Stake a Claim to the Top Three Spots

RadioTime, Inc., a developer of technology for finding and listening to radio online, today released the July edition of its Top 19 Programs list, a ranking of the most listened to programs on RadioTime.com for the month of July 2009. The list, which RadioTime will update monthly, features some well-known programs and demonstrates how RadioTime enables users to discover lesser-known shows airing around the world.

The five most popular programs are: “Rush Limbaugh,” “Glenn Beck,” “The Savage Nation,” “Steve Harvey,” and “Laura Ingraham.” Two programs make the list for the first time. NPR’s “All Things Considered” debuts at number 18, giving NPR two programs on the Top 19 List with “Morning Edition” at the eighth position. The “Neal Boortz Show” also makes its first appearance on the list at number 17.

“As debate around political issues like health care has intensified over the past few weeks, it’s not terribly surprising that we see political talk shows take the top three spots, and dominate the entire list,” said Dan Halyburton, President, RadioTime.com. “The RadioTime.com Top 19 Programs list shows which programs are the favorites among our users right now, and politics are clearly on the minds of many of them.”
