Fox Soccer Channel, the leading destination in the United States for soccer fans, announced today that it is launching several major digital media initiatives in support of its UEFA Champions League match coverage, which debuts today.

“We are leveraging the immense popularity of the UEFA Champions League property to broaden our interactive initiatives, in order to serve soccer fans online and on the go,” said Bhavesh Patel, Vice President of Interactive Media for Fox Sports International. “Being able to stay connected is of the utmost importance to soccer fans, and we are confident that these product launches will complement our on-air coverage and will be of great interest to everyone who is excited about the world’s most prestigious club tournament.”

Fox Sports International has launched a dedicated UEFA Champions League website, ChampionsOnFox.com, which hosts game preview videos, a schedule of match telecasts, live scores and stats and links to live online streaming, as well as an e-commerce store for UEFA Champions League team apparel.

During the 2009/10 competition, live video streaming of every UEFA Champions League match will be available to fans in the United States for the first time ever via one central online platform. These matches will be accessible through the ChampionsOnFox.com website and streamed from UEFA.com. Available on a subscription basis for $14.95 per month or $99.95 for a season pass, matches can also be purchased individually for $9.95 each.

In addition to the new online offerings, the network has also launched FoxSoccer.com Mobile Match Tracker. For fans interested in staying connected to the UEFA Champions League on the go, this Java app offers fans access to near-live goal highlights on their cell phones, as well as fixtures, scores, news and photos. FoxSoccer.com Mobile Match Tracker is initially available on AT&T and Sprint, and can be downloaded from ChampionsOnFox.com.
