SuperNews Expands Network and Opens European Data Center

New Amsterdam data center ensures peak performance for SuperNews® customers worldwide, while minimizing costs for service providers

SAN FRANCISCO – September 6, 2006 — SuperNews, a leading provider of Usenet access, today announced it has expanded its network, opening a new European data center at the Internet’s largest exchange point – Amsterdam Internet Exchange (AMS-IX).

SuperNews, the Usenet services arm of Critical Path, Inc. (OTC: CPTH), a leading provider of messaging software and services, provides consumers, ISPs and other service providers with direct access to Usenet – a distributed Internet discussion system that allows users to exchange messages and multimedia content through Internet “newsgroups.” Usenet traffic volumes are on the rise, recently increasing as a growing number of consumers, now armed with high-speed, broadband connections, share more multimedia content online. The new SuperNews data center supports this growth, providing faster Usenet access to customers worldwide, as well as lower networking costs for European service providers through direct connections to AMS-IX. The new Amsterdam data center augments existing SuperNews operations in San Jose, California.

“I am delighted to announce the expansion of the SuperNews network and the opening of our new European data center,” said Ade Lovett, General Manager, SuperNews. “The new data center is one of many upgrades we’re making to maintain our high service standards, while minimising costs for our customers as Usenet continues to grow.”

Along with the new data center, SuperNews recently upgraded its Web site at www.supernews.com, providing added online support and information for customers worldwide.
