Whether you’re a self-confessed gadget geek, or just have a hunger for the ultimate in shiny technology, Stuff magazine is looking for your help to decide this year’s Stuff Reader’s Gadget of the Year Awards 2009.

It’s that time of the year again when the team at Stuff magazine get together with the year’s best and most-loved gadgets and toys, to decide which one deserves the prestigious accolade of ‘Stuff Reader’s Gadget of the Year’, and Stuff wants YOU to do your bit, and help decide what’s the best of the best by opening up three categories for you to cast your vote.

This year’s Stuff Reader’s Gadget Awards categories and shortlists are as follows:

* Reader’s Gadget of the Year: Apple iPhone 3G S, HTC Hero, Kodak ZX1, Nokia N97, Nintendo DSi, Olympus PEN E-P1, Panasonic DMR-BS850 Blue-Ray recorder, Sony X-Series Walkman, Tonium Pacemaker 60GB
* Retailer of the Year: Argos, The Carphone Warehouse, Digitaldirect.co.uk, Firebox.com, HMV, Iwantoneofthose.co.uk, John Lewis, Micro Anvika, PC World, Play.com, Sound and Vision, Sevenoaks
* Game of the Year: Call of Duty World at War, EA Sports Active, Fallout 3, Ghostbusters the Video Game, Guitar Hero Metallica, Left 4 Dead, LittleBIGPlanet, Pro Evolution Soccer 09, Prototype.

This is your opportunity to select your favourite gadgets from the shortlist and nominate it for a Reader’s Award. By casting your vote, you could be in with a chance to win a Canon PowerShot SX1 IS digital camera.

This year’s categories will be judged on their ability to astound and inspire, their practical application and their impact on our lives and the industry.

Now is the chance for people to wear their gadget allegiance on their sleeve and see their favourite tech get the recognition it deserves.”

The Stuff Gadget Awards are the Gadget Oscars of the tech industry, hosted by Stuff, the UK’s best-selling gadget magazine.

Each year Stuff celebrates some of the finest developments in technology and technical wizardry, looking at some of the best and most sought after products available.

You can cast your vote online through the newly launched, dedicated microsite; awards.stuff.tv , until 31st August 2009.

Your vote will decide the winners of these categories, and be put together with a further 11 categories additional go towards the final judging from our chair of judges from Stuff magazine’s editorial team, including: Consulting Editor Tom Dunmore, Editor Fraser Macdonald and Brand Manager Simon Osborne-Walker. The shortlisted brands will be chosen from a long list of products launched this year, many of which have been featured in the pages of Stuff magazine or on the magazine’s highly successful website stuff.tv over the past 12 months, and those successfully in the running for this year’s prestigious accolade will be announced to the public mid September 2009.

The winners will be announced on Thursday 1st October at an official awards ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel, London. Each of the winners will receive one of Stuff’s coveted awards trophies, and can look forward to greatly increased sales and recognition worldwide.

A full list of the award winners will appear in the November Issue of Stuff magazine, on sale October 2nd 2009. The winners will also be displayed within the Stuff Zone of the Autosport and Pistonheads show, in January 2010.
