Kolkata August 27 2009: Canon India Private Limited, India ’s No.1 Complete Digital Imaging Company today announced some key achievements in its Consumer Systems Product (CSP) division pertaining to growth and revenues to kick start celebrations for Durga Puja. Canon CSP closed H1′09 with some impressive figures under its belt which includes 49% growth in the aforesaid period and No.1 rank in the Scanner category with 49% market share and 17% growth in the Consumables segment. The Laser segment has always been a key revenue generator for Canon CSP and as of May ‘09 the market share stands at 31% with a growth of 160%. With a high growth in the first half of 2009, this certainly is a significant period for Canon CSP as these achievements establishes Canon as one of the key players in this domain.
Canon keeps coming up with newer technologies and initiatives to lure its customers. Apart from that Canon has consistently made efforts to make its channel network stronger. As a result, today Canon has established itself in the IT peripheral segment as one of the leaders. In its endeavor to abolish piracy Canon CSP initiated a drive of using Original Cartridges, supporting which, it opened Original Ink Centers all over the nation. Today the OICs stands at 310 in number spread across the nation helping Canon’s Consumables category to grow by 17%.In the Printer Products Division, East has the highest contribution to the consumables business which is the engine of growth for this business. 32% of consumables revenue for Canon India is generated from the Eastern region.
