Seagate Hosts Forum in Seoul on Maximizing Data Management
Seagate Technology (NYSE: STX), the world’s leading supplier of hard disc drives, together with its manufacturing representative in Korea, Ocean Technology Co. Ltd., will host a forum titled “What Drives You?” on the subject of Maximizing Data Management. The forum, targeted at system integrators and value added resellers (VARs), will educate channel partners about the diverse applications for which multi-drive, high capacity systems featuring Seagate Barracuda ES hard drives are suitable. The seminar will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2006 in Seoul.
“In our ongoing dialogue with channel partners, VARs and resellers, we are seeing a tremendous need for better data management capabilities, and a deeper understanding of the best solutions to meet specific customer needs,” said BanSeng Teh, Seagate vice president and managing director for APAC. “Our Barracuda ES family of hard drives is designed to be at the core of today’s most robust and reliable data management solutions. The Barracuda ES drive provides a significant boost in capacity and reliability that far exceeds prior generations in meeting the need for cost-effective, Disk Array/WB server storage.”
At the educational forum, Seagate will showcase applications where its Barracuda ES hard drive combines the highest capacity available with enterprise features demanded in ‘multi-drive’ capacity-intensive configurations, ideal for low cost-per-GB business storage solutions. Additional topics that will be discussed include serial ATA and Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface technologies.
With mission-critical enterprise storage continuing to drive core business server and storage needs, the digital revolution is challenging businesses of all sizes with storing, managing and protecting vast amounts of data. The Seagate Barracuda ES hard drive enables cost-efficient business-critical ‘infrastructure’ build-out, delivering the largest capacity hard drive to datacenters. The Barracuda ES drive targets storage solutions for today’s fastest growing applications, including maximum capacity servers, rich media content, reference and compliance data, and data protection schemes such as disc-to-disc, virtual tape, snapshots and virtualization.
