Samsung Poland delivers mobile Web browsing with Opera Mini
Opera Software today announced that Samsung has selected Opera Miniâ„¢ to deliver Web browsing on its Samsung Z400 handset in Poland. With the pre-installed Opera Mini browser, users can surf all their favorite Web sites while on the go. The sliding phone also makes use of its 3G connectivity to provide video telephony and video streaming. PTC (Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa), the leading telecom operator in Poland with 11 million subscribers, will offer the Samsung Z400 handset to its customers.
The Samsung Z400 supports easy Web surfing with its big QVGA screen. The business user will also enjoy 30MB of on-board memory and the possibility to use extra MicroSD memory cards. On top of that, the handset includes a Document Viewer application, a 2 megapixel camera and PictBridge support for printing photos without a PC.
“Internet services on mobile phones are growing in popularity. By providing an additional, full-fledged HTML browser, users can access the Web sites they are used to from their PCs,” says Tomasz Podkowinski, Product Manager, Telecom, Samsung Poland. “Opera Mini is seen as one of the leading Web browsers for mobile phones today and selecting it for Samsung Z400 was a natural choice.”
Leading operators and mobile phone manufacturers worldwide have recognized the value Opera Mini brings to their customers. The little browser is being pre-installed on an increasing number of handsets, as well as distributed by a large number of mobile content providers all over the world. With Opera Mini, new and existing Web sites and services are instantly made available on mobile phones, dramatically expanding the market and improving the reach beyond the PC.
