New Solution Helps Reduce Costs and Increase Compliance Efficiency
IBM today introduced a new software solution designed to usher in a new age of automated electronic records management, helping customers address compliance requirements and manage risk across disparate silos of unmanaged content, accelerating their move to an on demand business.
The new IBM Federated Records Management technology combines IBM DB2 Records Manager and IBM WebSphere Information Integrator Content Edition into an integrated solution that eliminates the complexity of centrally managing recordkeeping policies for all distributed content throughout an organization, no matter where documents and other content are stored and managed.
Until now, records management has tended to be a highly manual process, and technology solutions have been limited by the complexity and diversity of companies’ content infrastructures. According to industry analysts, 75 percent of companies have two or more repositories while nearly 25 percent have more than 15 content repositories. Automating consistent records management policies across an enterprise is often difficult for many organizations to achieve due to the complexity and risk of custom integrations with diverse and disparate content repositories.
This new solution leverages the open and versatile capabilities of IBM’s comprehensive information management software portfolio to create a solution optimized to help clients identify, integrate, manage and analyze information, in real-time and regardless of the type of information, platform or vendor. By extending IBM’s existing records management capabilities to provide clients even more advanced technology, IBM is further underscoring its longtime leadership in the records management space.
