MDeC awards MSC Malaysia Status to Actix Sdn Bhd

London, 29 September 2009 – Actix, the recognized leader in mobile Network Status Management (NSM) systems, today announced the opening of a new office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The new Actix office is located at Mid Valley City, in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, and will host the staff and infrastructure for Actix to build new 4G mobile network solutions and support implementations of the popular ActixOne solution in the dynamic Asia Pacific telecoms market.

The mobile market in Malaysia has seen spectacular growth, jumping from three million subscribers in 1999 to reach around 28 million by end-2008.(i) The Malaysian Government has been active in transforming the country into a global IT hub by attracting world class companies through MSC Malaysia, the country’s national ICT initiative. Actix’ entry into the Malaysian market, which is supported by the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), the Malaysian government body that has been entrusted to lead the national ICT initiative, recognizes Malaysia’s position as one of the key hubs for innovation in the region allowing the creation of outstanding IT products, solutions and services.

“The opening of our new Malaysian office comes at a time when mobile operators in Malaysia are seeing unprecedented growth – which is good news, but means that mobile networks need to be the best they can be to support customer expectations,” says Alex Hawker, CEO, Actix. “Optimising and managing the RAN—while still having the resources to innovate and deliver new services—is a massive challenge for all operators across the region, and the opening of our Malaysia office is a key milestone in Actix bringing all its experience from working with tier one operators globally to the region. We’re very pleased to be in Malaysia and thank MDeC for their strong and helpful support.”

“We would like to congratulate Actix on the opening of its Malaysia office. South East Asia presents new growth opportunities for the mobile technology industry with its growing mobile and Internet subscribers. Looking at this, Malaysia presents a strategic location for companies to tap on Asia Pacific’s growth by forging strategic partnerships. These partnerships will position MSC Malaysia as a one-stop location for companies to market cost-effective mobile solutions and services for the regional and global markets.” Says Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, CEO, MDeC.

The new Actix office in Malaysia is located in The Gardens North Tower, Mid Valley City,

Lingkaran Syed Putra, 59200 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

A grand opening was held today, 29 September 2009.
