Reliance Communication and Microsoft announce partnership to offer Windows Mobile solutions

Mumbai, September 30, 2009: Reliance Communications & Microsoft have entered into a strategic partnership to offer Windows Mobile Solution on Reliance’s wireless networks. According to this agreement, Microsoft will offer its productivity solutions to Reliance customers including push email support, chat, photo-sharing, content back-up and other applications. The company will offer Microsoft’s Windows Mobile Solution as part of its post-paid and pre-paid offerings on its networks.

Reliance is leveraging its tie-up with Microsoft for Windows Mobile Solution by offering attractive data packages on the entire range of Windows Mobile phones. As part of the Windows Mobile solutions roll-out, Reliance Communications is introducing a special data plan offering a data download of 200MB for just Rs 95/month exclusively to Reliance Mobile customers using Windows Mobile phones. This data plan by Reliance offers double the value proposition as compared to any other product in the market.

Commenting on the tie-up, Mr Vrajesh Shelat, Head Wireless Data Business said, “Our tie-up with Microsoft is part of our overall strategy to strengthen our market share in the fast growing Smartphone segment. By offering the Windows Mobile Solution, we will be able to address a wider customer base in this segment. This special data plan for Windows Mobile for post-paid and pre-paid users on Reliance Mobile GSM and CDMA networks will ensure that price is no longer a barrier for premium data services.”
