ERNI kicks off India expansion plans

SM Electronic joins hands

New Delhi, September 13, 2006: ERNI, a leading global manufacturer and worldwide supplier of a broadline of interconnects for the telecommunications, data communications, computer, industrial and medical markets announced the appointment of SM Electronic Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (SM), as a distributor for its products in India to join the existing distributor, Omnidesner. The move is intended to enhance ERNI’s market penetration in the country.

Leveraging the addition of a distribution partner, ERNI, now expects a growth of 20% in revenue in India. Headquartered in Bangalore, SM has nationwide presence having independent branches in Delhi, Hyderabad and Pune with a wide customer base and managed by professional regional heads, which gives ERNI a larger geographical coverage and there by an excellent reach to customers of varied segments.

“With the additional support of distribution network, we want to position ourselves as one of the key technology players in the connector industry in India by providing better connectivity support to OEMs & design houses,” said A C Khor, Sales Manager for South East Asia and India for ERNI Asia. “Addition of a distributor with strong market base would help us to go a long way in reaching out to our goals and will give ERNI a wider reach,” adds Khor.
