TIM CTO to Join Industry Leaders for TM Forum Regional Spotlight in Sao Paulo, Brazil to Explore Saturated Latin American Markets

Mauricio Cascão, Chief Technical Officer, TIM, will join industry leaders to discuss new business models and next-generation Transformation

MORRISTOWN, NJ—October 6, 2009—TM Forum, the world’s premier industry group focused on business effectiveness for the communications and media sectors, today announced that it will bring together senior executives, including TIM Brazil CTO Mauricio Cascão, to debate business transformation in Latin America on October 13, 2009 at this year’s TM Forum Regional Summit in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Held alongside Futurecom 2009 at the Transamerica Expo Center, the summit will discuss service management and operational strategies affecting profitability in the region, and key investment priorities for driving business success.

Drawing on observations and lessons learned from TM Forum’s 700-strong corporate membership, the Regional Summit will look at Latin America’s saturated markets, and examine new business models to add value, deliver exceptional customer experience and reduce customer churn. Participants will also focus on the growing competition between telecom and cable companies in the region, all seeking to win triple- and quad-play consumers.

o Industry leaders, including Simón Tadeo, processes manager, CableVisión SA; Sergio Barros, IT OSS manager, Oi; Luiz Francalanzza, provisioning solutions development manager, Telefonica, R&D; Fabio Sepúlvida, network & technology director, VIVO; and Christian Ferrer, director/manager business development, VTR, will participate in the TM Forum Regional Summit in Sao Paulo.
o TM Forum’s Regional Summits and Spotlights are mini-conferences that offer communications service providers and suppliers a unique opportunity to come together to discuss key business issues affecting digital media and communication services in the region.
