MPLS broadband guarantees reliable connectivity to cloud-based business applications, supporting cost-effective business expansion

08 October 2009 – TFM Networks and Cloud Computing have partnered to offer resilient managed hosted applications that will enable companies to run key business functions and operate cost effectively over multiple sites.

Cloud Computing’s online managed hosted applications and VOIP enables companies to run their operations securely in the cloud, removing the need to buy, install and maintain software or servers.

By operating its hosted solution over TFM’s business-only MPLS broadband platform, Cloud Computing can guarantee its customers resilient and consistent bandwidth at all times for reliable access to key applications and functions, in order to ensure business-as-usual at all times.

Cloud Computing chose technology infrastructure services provider TFM Networks’ MPLS platform because it offers the choice of a range of carriers, connectivity and service options. This flexibility lets Cloud Computing tailor network provision to support the specific operating requirements of each individual customer.

Brett Rowe, sales and marketing director at TFM Networks said: “The partnership gives businesses all the benefits of cloud computing – in terms of lower operating costs and simplified management – backed up by the reassurance of a robust business-only broadband connection, eliminating the risk of downtime and reduced performance at peak consumer times.”

Robin Dunn at Cloud Computing said: “We were looking for a network provider that could offer diverse routing capabilities, reliable multi-links and private circuits to benefit both our data centre and our clients. It was important for us to find a broadband platform that would enable our customers to focus on expanding their businesses and operate over multiple sites, without the additional cost and resource.

“TFM’s MPLS network gives us the security, reliability and consistency of a private network at a business broadband price. They also manage the maintenance of all routers and firewalls providing a guaranteed 4-hour on site response. As a result, we’ve been able to pass on these benefits to customers, giving them a robust, end-to-end cloud solution at a cost-effective price.”

TFM’s MPLS platform links into multiple tier-one networks including BT’s 21CN, ensuring resilient and robust network and IT services. The network operates across diversely routed, fully redundant Points of Presence, offering resilient capacity and no single point of failure.

24/7 hardware replacement from a four-hour response as well as business continuity options such as 3G rapid deploy, back-up services on LLU platforms and off-site storage systems guarantee network performance and recovery in any scenario.
