SEAGATE TO DELIVER KEYNOTE AT CES EVENT: STORAGE VISIONS CONFERENCE AT CES,

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif.—20 December 2004—Seagate Technology (NYSE:STX), the world’s number one provider of hard drives for consumer electronics, announced today that Pat O’Malley, senior vice president for Consumer Electronics Business Development, will deliver the keynote speech at the 2005 Storage Visions Conference at CES on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, at 8:00 am at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

O’Malley’s keynote will address the proliferation of hard drives in new everyday-everywhere applications, and the resulting challenges facing device makers and storage providers. Wide varieties of performance, reliability and packaging options are enabling these new markets, and the divergence of interfaces, form factors, spin speeds and other capabilities only continues to increase. O’Malley will discuss what designers and manufacturers must do to understand and take advantage of the opportunities afforded by these changing technologies.

This annual event is a venue for the discussion of critical technology and market issues for the implementation of a completely digital entertainment production and consumption industry. Hard drive and other storage manufacturers, consumer device manufacturers, storage system and software companies will gather to discuss how to integrate digital storage into consumer products such as cell phones, music and video players, home networking, and television set-top boxes.
