Delhi to host TCS IT Wiz 2009 – India’s largest tech quiz for schools on Oct 31, 2009

New Delhi, October 22, 2009: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services, business solutions and outsourcing firm, announced that the 2009 edition of TCS IT Wiz – India’s largest technology quiz for schools – will be held in New Delhi on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Dogra Hall, Indian Institute of Technology, Hauz Khas, New Delhi-110016.

Started in 1999, TCS IT Wiz, India’s largest tech quiz for schools has become benchmark in the inter-school quizzing circuit for the level of research, the intensity with which teams compete and the sheer numbers that it draws. Last year TCS also launched a dedicated website for the quiz – www.tcsitwiz.com.

TCS IT Wiz was held in Bangalore, Kolkata and Bhubaneshwar during July-September. The event will also be held in Chennai, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Delhi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Ahmedabad and in Pune. This nation wide event is expected to reach out to 200,000 students. TCS IT Wiz strives to enhance IT awareness among students, keeping them abreast of the latest developments in the world of IT, as information technology plays an integral role in today’s society and economy.

The 2009 TCS IT Wiz winners will walk away with laptops and the runners will be rewarded with cameras & digital photo frames. The 6 finalists will also receive an array of prizes from TCS ranging from backpacks, watches to MP3 players.

Last year in Delhi over 1,600 students took part in the annual TCS IT Wiz, with winners emerging after a keenly contested event.

Each institution is allowed to send 8 teams (two-members per team) to participate.
