Motorola Salutes Chicago and Science

Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced its continuing support of math and science initiatives by joining with the City of Chicago to present the Chicago Science Expedition, September 22-October 8. The event encourages Chicagoans to experience more than 85 city-wide events designed to ignite a desire within children and adults alike to learn about the impact of science in daily life.

As the lead sponsor of the Chicago Science Expedition, the Motorola Foundation demonstrates its commitment to cultivating the skilled scientists and engineers needed to create tomorrow’s new ideas. Since 2000, the Motorola Foundation has contributed more than $32 million in grants to education, with an emphasis on math and science.

“We want to show the people of Chicago that science is fun, cool and exciting,” said Eileen Sweeney, director of the Motorola Foundation. “We’re a company of scientists and inventors. And we’re proud to support these learning experiences that will spark discussions about how science relates to the people and places that connect everyone in our vibrant city.”
