Helping to make color in the office a reality, Canon U.S.A, Inc., the nation’s market share brand leader in black-and-white and color laser printer/copier solutionsi, today began shipping the Color imageRUNNER C5180 Series and expanded its line of full-color digital imageRUNNER multifunction solutions with the introduction of the Color imageRUNNER C4580/C4080/C3380/C2880 Series.
The Color imageRUNNER C4580/C4080/C3380/C2880 Series joins the Canon Color imageRUNNER C5180 Series, which was introduced earlier this year, in Canon’s family of powerful, yet affordable, color devices for large and small office environments. Based on four-drum technology, the Color imageRUNNER C5180/C4580/C4080 Series delivers speeds of up to 51/45/40 pages-per-minute (ppm), based on letter-sized documents, respectively, for black-and-white output and up to 51/40/36 ppm, based on letter-sized documents, respectively, for color output. The Color imageRUNNER C3380/C2880 Series, which brings big features and impressive color to the office in a small footprint, delivers output at speeds of up to 33/28 ppm, respectively, in monochrome and up to 30/26 ppm in brilliant color.
Using Canon’s next-generation color imagePlatform system architecture, imageCHIP (Concurrent Hyper Intelligent Platform), the new Color imageRUNNER Series brings fast engine and data processing speed and reliable color to office and professional users alike. The robust imageCHIP system architecture, with its dual CPU design and increased memory capacity (up to 1.5GB RAM and 80GB Hard Drive), helps to simultaneously process documents that are scanned, copied or printed quickly and efficiently.
“With advanced color document handling and finishing capabilities, this new Color imageRUNNER Series will change the way color is used in the office,” said Tod Pike, senior vice president, Imaging Systems Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. “The Canon innovation and technology in this new series of MFPs are perfect examples of why Canon has been able to remain an industry leader in digital color imaging, from its first full-color copying machine in the 1980s to today’s award-winning imageRUNNER line.”
