Finolex Industries Limited (FIL), Ratnagiri was awarded the First Prize in Petrochemical Sector for the National Energy Conservation Award -2009 by the Ministry of Power, Govt of India. The award function was held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 14th December 2009. For, Finolex Industries Limited Mr. J. S. Arora – Director – Operations, received the award by the hands of Hon’ble Union Minister of Power Mr Sushil Kumar Shinde. Mr Bharatsinh Solanki, Minister of State for Power, Mr Ajay Mathur, Director General, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Govt of India and Mr H S Bramha, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Govt of India were also present during the function.

During the year 2009 FIL has taken phenomenal energy conservation steps in their PVC Resin Division at Ratnagiri in various processes which has made this award possible.

FIL Ratnagiri has established an in-house energy conservation cell which is constantly working towards improvements in energy saving methods and working out on various schemes for energy conservation. The expertise of this energy conservation cell has helped the organisation to reduce cost at every possible instance and has helped in enriching the environment as well.

FIL has also given special care towards environment by developing trees and plantation around its premises. The company has planted around 44000 trees of local species across an approximate of 150 acres of land inside their factory premises

FIL would continue this Energy conservation drive with more advanced techniques and excel with phenomenal achievements for the same in time to come.
