It’s the screens that got small this past week: TV, videogame and PC screens, that is, as people sought information on Google.com about entertainment and news topics. These include [Bill Clinton's] contentious interview on Fox-TV concerning Osama bin Laden; the warmly-received premiere of [Ugly Betty] on ABC; ongoing chatter about Barbara “The View” Walters’ talking [Havanese] dog, Cha-Cha; and the DVD release of [Curious George].
In smaller screen news, Microsoft announced a new [Halo Wars] game being developed exclusively for the Xbox 360; and a hoax circulated on MySpace about the supposed death of [Ben Savage], a character from “Boy Meets World.” Still other searches focused on Dallas Cowboy [Terrell Owens], who denied a suicide attempt; former Playmate [Kari Ann Peniche], newly unengaged after fiance Aaron Carter publicly broke it off; and [Mary Carey], the now famous “porn star candidate” who announced her candidacy, again, for governor of California.
Perhaps most intriguing in top searches this week: the centuries-long debate about the enigmatic look on the [Mona Lisa's] famous face. Using infrared and 3-D tools, researchers now believe she was probably pregnant or had just given birth, giving her something to smile about.
